"FDA-approved" labeling legislation
Executive Summary
House Commerce/Health Subcmte. on May 2 passed in a unamimous voice vote Chairman Waxman's (D-Calif.) bill to lift the prohibition against stating in Rx drug labeling and advertising that a product has been approved by FDA. Ranking Minority Member Madigan (R-III.) said that although there remains "an outstanding problem" regarding how to handle DESI drugs still under FDA review, it may be resolved by the time the measure (HR 2244) is considered by the full cmte.
