Chain has purchased 12% interest in Ross Stores for undisclosed amount through purchase of a new series of convertible preferred stock. Ross, headquartered in California, is a chain of off-price stores specializing in sale of brandname family apparel, accessories and domestics. Under agreement between two firms, Ross stores will be established in Florida through conversion of six JByrons department store locations.
