Executive Summary

Sopha Medical (France) launched MultiDim, a new gated SPECT cardiac analysis system. The new software uses vector sampling to determine epicardial and endocardial edges. The program determines motion ejection fraction, wall thickening and volumes. The final display uses 3-D mapping topology to show the functional status of the muscle. Reconstruction takes about five minutes, plus another two and a half to give a complete analysis, says Sopha's software expert Craig Thompson.
