EMA To Track Monkeypox Medicines Stock & Boost Emergency Task Force Output

The European Medicines Agency is taking more actions to tackle monkeypox now that the disease has been declared a public health emergency.

The European Medicines Agency today said it would produce and maintain a formal list of critical medicines in the EU for the ongoing monkeypox outbreak, which was escalated by the World Health Organization to a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) on 23 July.

The list is expected to help prevent or mitigate potential or actual shortages of critical medicines for the disease in the EU, where two products are authorized for
