US FDA Hiring For Senior Staff Vacancies Boosted By Cures Act, Pilot Program – Gottlieb

Recent departures are 'business as usual' at the agency, Commissioner says.

Despite the recent departures of several high-profile staffers in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) and several others approaching retirement age, US FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb remains confident the agency will be able to fill its vacancies, thanks in large part to the hiring authorities from the 21st Century Cures Act.

Speaking May 4 at the Reagan-Udall Foundation annual meeting, Gottlieb said that although there were a few more notable departures from the agency, "it's sort of business as usual."
