Dietary supplement seller Toby McAdam, owner of Risingsun Health, pleads guilty in federal court in Montana to one count of criminal contempt of court for selling supplements in violation of two orders, the Department of Justice said on Dec. 1. The criminal contempt order against McAdam, ordered to a four-month prison sentence and to pay $80,000 in liquidated damages, is for violating 2010 and 2013 court orders that prohibited him from selling supplements after FDA determined he was selling misbranded and adulterated supplements and drugs that made unsupported claims to cure cancer and other conditions.
