Pfizer Opioid Marketing Agreement With Chicago Follows Help In Suit Against Other Firms

Pfizer will disclose opioid risks in its promotional activities and will help with public education and disposal efforts; company has provided evidence to Chicago in its litigation against five other opioid manufacturers.

Pfizer Inc. has cooperated with the City of Chicago in a lawsuit the city filed against five other opioid manufacturers in 2014. It has now gone a step further and inked a four-year agreement to follow strict standards in its marketing and promoting of the pain medicines.

Specifically, Pfizer will disclose the risks of opioids in its promotion activities and external communications, including through its sales representatives....
