Former Upjohn Vice Chairman William Parfet named president and CEO, effective Oct. 4. Parfet succeeds Richard Newhauser, who is moving up to chairman of the board. Parfet will share in the ownership of the company. Privately held, Richland Mich.-based Richard-Allan is a manufacturer of surgical equipment and medical supplies, with annual revenues in the $25 mil. range. The company is growing at an "almost 50% annual rate," Newhauser says. Richard-Allen has manufacturing facilities in Kalamazoo, Mich. and in Redditch, England and employs 300 people.
