Private Company Edition: First quarter data again confirm fewer but larger VC rounds in Q1. Big Q2 rounds include a $132.5m series C round for Endeavor Biomedicines, a $103m series A round for Reunion Neuroscience and Enlaza’s $100m series A.

Ventus Therapeutics raised a $140m series C while Endeavor Biomedicines brought in $101m in series B cash. Also, Twist Bioscience grossed $250m in a follow-on offering, BioMarin raised $110m when it sold a priority review voucher and Nuvectis, TC BioPharm launched IPOs. 

Now that the analysis of Pfizer’s postmarketing trial for Xeljanz is complete, though, application reviews of other products will likely be completed. The Xelijanz study revealed elevated risk of heart-related events, cancer, blood clots and death, resulting in a class-wide indication restriction and a revised boxed warning.
