Executive Summary
U.S. leading pharmacy chain plans to add to online offerings to include consumer goods such as vitamins, OTCs drugs, cosmetics, school supplies, batteries and camera film with expansion of its Web site in the coming months. The company, which currently offers only Rx drugs on its site, also is working on a major expansion of its bricks-and-mortar locations with 450 new stores expected to open this fiscal year. According to Walgreen, the delayed opening of the Web site is attributed to distribution glitches; the company plans to use its existing facilities to handle distribution.
