Executive Summary
Novartis Consumer Health President and CEO Michael Valentino elected next association chairman at annual meeting in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. May 18-21. Valentino, who has served in various positions on both the CHPA board and executive committee, will take over in 2001 for Chair Charles Hinkaty, president of Del Pharmaceuticals. Newly elected executive committee vice chairmen are Manfred Scheske (SmithKline Beecham Consumer Healthcare) and Anthony Vernon (McNeil Consumer Healthcare); new exec committee members are Gary Downing (Medtech Labs), Timothy Hayes (Bayer Consumer Care) and Christopher Pair (Herbalife). First timers on the board are: Clifford Botway (The Botway Group), Hayes, Daniel Johnson (Combe Inc.), Pair and Akiyoshi Yoshida (The Mentholatum Company)
