Executive Summary
Drug delivery firm Kala Pharmaceuticals Inc. has raised $11.5mm through its Series A venture round. New backer Crown Venture Fund led and was joined by current shareholders Lux Capital Management, Polaris Venture Partners, and Third Rock Ventures, as well as six other undisclosed investors. The company will use the money to continue developing its ophthalmic programs for ocular inflammation and wet age-related macular degeneration through clinical proof-of-concept.
