Executive Summary
Novare Surgical Systems (minimally invasive surgical devices) has raised $16mm with the sale of Series D preferred shares. Point Judith Capital and Tudor Investment led the round and were joined by current backers Channel Medical Partners, Canaan Partners, Asset Management, and well-known medical device inventor Thomas Fogarty, MD, as well as new investor Deerfield Partners. The company will use the proceeds to begin marketing its RealHand laproscopic instruments. Concurrent with the financing, a member of Point Judith Capital will take a seat on the company's board.
