PCORI Initiates A Targeted Approach To Research At November Meeting

In a departure from asking researchers to propose specific research topics within broadly defined areas, the board of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute approved a plan to fund research in three targeted areas – treatment of uterine fibroids, management of asthma in African-Americans and prevention of falls in the elderly – and up to two additional areas.
