FDA finds drugs in EZVille supplements

The agency advises consumers to not use so-called "supplements" from EZVille Ltd. because they contain analogues of Rx ingredients. The Ronkonkoma, N.Y., company Aug. 6 recalled Revivexxx Extra Strength, promoted for sexual enhancement, and weight-loss product Solo Slim. FDA analysis found Revivexxx contains tadalafil, the active ingredient in the prescription erectile dysfunction drug Cialis, and Solo Slim contains sibutramine, found in Rx weight-loss drug Meridia. The products should be returned to the place of purchase, FDA said. ... Sulfoaildenafil spurs recalls: FDA finds the analogue of sildenafil, an active drug for erectile dysfunction, in two firms' products marketed as dietary supplements. On Aug. 9, the agency announced Salt Lake City-based Prolatis recalled its eponymous product, sold nationwide in double blister packs and 40-count bottles. On Aug. 10, FDA said another Salt Lake City firm, Novacare, recalled a range of affected products sold under names including Stiff Nights, Aziffa, Monster Excyte and others, distributed in bottles and blister cards to retailers and websites.
