Injectable tan crackdown

The U.K.'s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency advises Nov. 17 against using the unlicensed drug Melanotan, an injectable tan sold illegally as a nonprescription product on Web sites and in some gyms and tanning salons. Melanotan increases the body's melanin levels to create a tan, but the substance "has not been tested for safety, quality or effectiveness" in the U.K., MHRA says
