Horizon milk with DHA: Martek Bioscience has entered into a new agreement with Dean Foods Company's WhiteWave Foods subsidiary that will add Martek's life'sDHA to the Horizon Organic milk and new Rachel's natural yogurt brand products, the algal DHA firm announces March 9. The products are expected to debut in mid-2007, Martek notes. Under the 15-year deal, Dean and WhiteWave will purchase all their DHA omega-3 needs from Martek for products in the U.S. and other designated territories. "I believe that this agreement with Dean will serve as an important step forward towards the widespread use of Martek's life'sDHA in a variety of food and beverage products," Martek CEO Steve Dubin says.
