Executive Summary
Rite Aid will open 10 walk-in health clinics in the Portland, Ore. area by Nov. 1 under an exclusive agreement with Conshohocken, Penn.-based Take Care Health Systems, the firms announce July 6. Nurse practitioners on staff will diagnose and treat "common family illnesses such as strep throat, eye, ear and sinus infections, seasonal allergies, poison ivy and other skin rashes, insect bites and urinary tract infections." The staff will also offer diagnostic screenings for various conditions and write prescriptions. Former J&J exec Peter Miller is CEO and co-founder along with travel industry exec and Chairman Hal Rosenbluth.
