Medicine Shoppe is restricting sale of pseudoephedrine products to behind the pharmacy counter, the St. Louis-based firm announces May 23. The move of single-ingredient, solid-dose pseudoephedrine cold products takes effect in all company-owned Medicine Shoppe Pharmacies and Medicap Pharmacy stores June 1, the firm says. Franchised stores are not required to make the move unless otherwise dictated by state laws, but are encouraged to take measures to prevent the products' diversion to meth production, the company notes.
