Executive Summary
FDA expects to finalize its proposed rule establishing dietary supplement GMPs "next year," Commissioner Mark McClellan, MD/PhD, states at the Consumer Healthcare Products Association's Annual Executive Conference in Aventura, Fla. March 14. The agency published the proposal in the March 13 Federal Register (1"The Tan Sheet" March 10, 2003, p. 3). McClellan notes FDA also will "aggressively" target dietary supplements making not only unapproved disease claims, but also "claims that are not supported about structure and function impacts"...
