American Botanical Council's The ABC Clinical Guide to Herbs will be available in January, organization states at Natural Products Expo East in Washington, D.C. Oct. 11-14. Targeted to healthcare professionals, $40 book contains: monographs of 30 herbals with information on herb/drug interactions and safety ratings; clinical overviews of specific brand name products; and an information sheet physicians can hand out to patients. Peer-reviewed reference also contains a self-test for pharmacists, physicians, nurses and dieticians that addresses book's educational objectives. ABC produced the guide with the Texas Medical Association, which will provide national accreditation for physicians taking the self-test
