Commission, Enforma Natural Products jointly ask Los Angeles federal Judge Spencer Letts to appoint UCLA researcher David Heber, MD/PhD, as an expert to evaluate scientific issues involving Enforma's Fat Trapper Plus and Exercise In A Bottle weight-loss products. Parties will submit briefs April 17 on proposed issues to be evaluated by Heber if he receives court approval. FTC alleges Enforma has "blatantly disregarded" a May 2000 order by continuing to make unsubstantiated claims for the products.
