Executive Summary

Dietary supplement quality certification logo program being weighed by trade group in response to launches of USP and NSF efforts in U.S. Group seeks to determine member companies' interest in value of developing similar program for Canadian market or joining U.S. efforts. Two previous attempts to start logo programs in Canada have failed. Certification program could benefit Canadian market as full implementation of premarket approval and enforcement regs for dietary supplements is estimated for 2004, NDMAC notes.
