Executive Summary
Upper limits for vitamin and mineral supplements one of several topics for which comments are requested by Elizabeth Yetley, PhD, CFSAN's lead nutrition scientist and U.S. delegate to the Codex Committee on Nutrition & Foods for Special Dietary Uses. Proposed Draft Guidelines for Vitamin and Mineral Supplements, Proposed Draft Revised Standard for Infant Formula and a discussion paper on risk-based approaches to nutrient intake assessment are subject to comment; deadline is Jan. 16. The documents, available on the U.S. Codex Web site, were drafted at the CCNFSDU meeting in Berlin in June; the full committee will gather again in Berlin Nov. 26-30
