Executive Summary
Senate Health Committee Jan. 25 hearing on the Institute of Medicine report on medical errors will include testimony from Harvard's Lucian Leape, MD, one of the IoM study authors, as well as former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop and Olympic gold medallist Gail Deavers, a medical error victim. A second panel will include American Nurses Association President Mary Foley, Pacific Business Group on Health Medical Director Arnold Milstein, MD, and representatives from the American Medical Association and American Hospital Association.
