The European Medicines Agency's management board has appointed Dr Christa Wirthumer-Hoche, the head of Austrian Medicines and Medical Devices Agency, as its new chair for a three-year term1. Wirthumer-Hoche replaces Sir Kent Woods, who stepped down from the post last December2.
