This article was originally published in SRA

Executive Summary

England's Department of Health says that negotiations on an agreement on value-based pricing (VBP) will begin in 20121. The department says it wants to "achieve a negotiated agreement" similar to the way in which it struck a deal with the pharmaceutical industry on the current pricing system, the PPRS2. In the meantime, it will engage with a "full range of interested stakeholders," the department says in its response to the consultation on VBP3.
