PhRMA names senior VP, international advocacy

Executive Summary
US pharma industry association PhRMA has appointed Rod Hunter as its new senior vice president of international advocacy. Mr Hunter, who takes up his new position on 10 June, was previously vice president, governmental programmes, Europe at IBM. Before joining IBM, Mr Hunter was special assistant to the president and senior director of the White House's National Security Council under President George W Bush, where he was responsible for co-ordinating the administration's international economic agenda.

EuropaBio appoints new chairman
EuropaBio, the European biotech industry association, has appointed Stephan Tanda as its new association chair. Mr Tanda, a member of the managing board of life sciences and materials sciences firm DSM, succeeds GlaxoSmithKline's Andrea Rappagliosi, who will remain a member of the EuropaBio board.
