Executive Summary
Sarah Faircliff, a former legal adviser with the European Medicines Agency, has joined the International Life Sciences Group of international law firm Bird & Bird. Ms Faircliff, who will be based in London, UK, spent ten years with the EMA, focusing on subjects such as orphan drugs, paediatrics and generics of centrally authorised products. She was also involved in helping the EU accession countries of 2004 to get their national pharma legislation and procedures in line with EU requirements.

EuropaBio appoints new chairman
EuropaBio, the European biotech industry association, has appointed Stephan Tanda as its new association chair. Mr Tanda, a member of the managing board of life sciences and materials sciences firm DSM, succeeds GlaxoSmithKline's Andrea Rappagliosi, who will remain a member of the EuropaBio board.
