New acting head of APVMA appointed

The Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA), Dr Alison Turner, has resigned her post to take up the position of inaugural general manager of the new National Blood Authority (NBA)1. Dr Joe Smith, formerly of the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) laboratories section and currently responsible for the Pesticide Division of the AVPMA, will be acting CEO whilst a permanent replacement for Dr Turner is recruited.
