McNeil's OTC recalls roll on

This article was originally published in The Tan Sheet

Executive Summary

The Johnson & Johnson subsidiary announces July 8 its fourth recall of products in packaging potentially contaminated with a moldy-smelling chemical. McNeil Consumer Healthcare and FDA announced the recall of 21 lots of drugs - including Tylenol, Benadryl and Motrin stock-keeping units - that originated from the firm's Las Piedras, Puerto Rico, facility and were sold in U.S., Caribbean and other markets. The Las Piedras recalls began in January and, coupled with the recalls of liquid pediatric OTCs from McNeil's Fort Washington, Pa., plant, likely will be discussed at an upcoming follow-up House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing (1"The Tan Sheet" June 28, 2010)
