Reynolds assists CFSAN GMP efforts: Carl Reynolds will help implement the dietary supplement good manufacturing practices as he joins the Division of Dietary Supplements at FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition. Division Director Bill Frankos announced Nov. 12 at the SupplySide West conference and trade show in Las Vegas that Reynolds will serve as his special assistant. Frankos said Reynolds will liaise between CFSAN and FDA field offices, and highlighted Reynolds' experience auditing and talking to industry regarding GMPs (1 (Also see "Prepare For GMP Inspections As FDA Plans To Inspect – Advice From Experts" - Pink Sheet, 6 Aug, 2007.)). Reynolds is a former director of CFSAN's Office of Field Programs but most recently served as vice president of Alexandria, Va.-based EAS Consulting Group.

Perrigo names Needham consumer GM: The private-label leader promotes Jeff Needham from senior VP and commercial business development president to executive VP and general manager of the consumer health care business. Needham's experience at the Allegan, Mich., company most recently includes senior VP for international markets and previously managing director for U.K. operations. He was marketing VP from 1993 to 2002.

Pflum leads Cognis nutrition in North America: Specialty chemicals and nutritional ingredients manufacturer the Cognis Group appoints Gregory E. Pflum as VP of its nutrition and health business in North America, replacing David M. Eckert, who is leaving the company but will work with Pflum until year-end. Cincinnati-based Cognis said Nov. 1 Pflum has 20 years of experience in the firm's manufacturing operations, most recently as chief administrative officer and VP of supply chain operations, where he was responsible for all functions supporting Cognis' businesses in North America.
