The manufacturer and multi-level marketer of nutrition and personal care products opens its doors in Beijing. Shaklee China is built upon two manufacturing facilities, a service center, 18 pick-up centers and a Beijing office, the company says Jan. 15. Shaklee has existing international operations in Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico and Taiwan, and now feels "welcomed by health-conscious Chinese consumers," says Joseph Lee, general manager for Shaklee China. The Pleasanton, Calif.-based firm received a direct-selling license from China's Ministry of Commerce nearly two years ago and has since invested millions in its operations there (1"The Tan Sheet" April 2, 2007, In Brief)
