Ranir-Placontrol oral care merger

Ranir, the maker of private-label oral care products including the Whitening Wraps tooth whitener line, acquires San Diego-based Placontrol, which manufactures and markets convenience dental flossers and other interdental oral care devices under its Plackers brand. Terms of the agreement are not disclosed. Christine Henisee, CEO of Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Ranir, says Jan. 12 the merger "will accelerate our growth through enhanced new product development capabilities as well as increased supply chain efficiencies." She adds that evidence of a connection between oral health and overall wellness will help enable the firm's continued success
