Executive Summary
FDA will solicit comments on its new post-marketing surveillance data network from government, industry, academia, patient, consumer and provider group stakeholders at a public meeting Dec. 16 in Washington, the agency says in a Dec. 5 Federal Register notice. FDA is accepting comments on the Sentinel Initiative until Jan. 16, 2009. Agency officials say that defining Sentinel's activities, governance structure and appropriate uses for safety data could take most of 2009 (1"The Tan Sheet" Sept. 22, 2008, p. 12)
