Park Labs advised to rephrase pain relief claims

This article was originally published in The Tan Sheet

Executive Summary

The Raleigh, N.C.-based firm should discontinue a guarantee that its Life Fitness Reparagen + Glucosamine dietary supplement "will result in pain relief within seven days," the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus announces Dec. 4. The firm also should drop other Reparagen claims that lack sufficient clinical evidence, including "accelerates the joint repair process" and "actually helps rebuild cartilage," NAD advises Park Labs. The NAD opinion adds that clinical data support the claim that Reparagen "alleviates arthritis symptoms and increases flexibility and mobility." Park Labs acknowledges NAD's proposal and "will take NAD's specific recommendations into account when the packaging and advertising is revised.
