Executive Summary
The National Institutes of Health's Office of Dietary Supplements Oct. 24 releases its ninth Bibliography of Significant Advances in Dietary Supplement Research, which includes research supported by government, industry and academic institutions as well as public-private partnerships. The 25 research projects included in the 1bibliography cover laboratory, human studies and observational studies of supplements concerning cardiovascular health, diabetes in at-risk children and cancer risks. ODA identified more than 400 original scientific papers from 83 journals for consideration, and sent 223 papers relevant to supplements to 54 external scientific experts in the fields of nutrition, public health, medicine and pharmacognosy for evaluation
