The Basel, Switzerland-based firm launches a $79.4 million (50 million euros) program to boost the manufacturing capacities and efficiency of its European plants and production lines. Capacity and output of the firm's Austrian plant will increase due to strong demand for Jungbunzlauer's citric acid. The firm says July 16 it will expand its xanthan gum plant as it expects increased demand for the product in all major markets. The firm's Ladenburg, Germany, manufacturing facility's calcium citrate capacity will double "to supply the growing demand in the mineral fortification and supplement market," the company says, adding the improvements will be completed in 12 months...
