Lipideme can be purchased online at PanGenex's Web site and from practitioners before the Tampa, Fla.-based firm launches the products at retailers nationwide at $39.99 for a 60-softgel package....

Flax oil at heart: Shape Foods launches Heart Shape Flax Oil and flax oil blend to capitalize on the demand for flax seed, which the Brandon, Manitoba-based firm says has tripled in the past decade. Shape Food says June 11 the product is available at retailers nationwide. The suggested retail price is $9.99 for a 250 mL bottle....

CardioHealth supplement: Sunvim Biosciences launches its CardioHealth supplement containing coenzyme Q10 and omega-3s EPA and DHA. The product supports the function of the heart and nourishes the vascular system, according to the Canadian firm. CardioHealth also "facilitates energy production at the cellular level," Sunvim says. Georgetown, Ontario-based Market-Wise Nutrition will distribute the product in North America....

Get Good Nights Sleep: Med Gen's all-natural sleep strip, based on its Good Nights Sleep spray formula, dissolves on the tongue without water. The product contains melatonin, vitamin B6 and GABA and will retail at $12.95 for a 10-day supply, the Boca Raton, Fla.-based firm says June 9. The strip's launch was advertised nationally on television....

Immune system support: Allera Health Products' ImmunExtra immune system support product is made with the pinecone extract Proligna , developed with 15 years of research, according to the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based firm. Clinical trials are under way in California, Missouri and Texas. ImmunExtra is available online and at St. Petersburg area stores at $34.95 for a 30-day supply, or $49.95 for a 60-day supply....

Organic line: Enzymatic Therapy releases its True Organics supplements line, with at least 95 percent of each product organically produced, as certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, according to a June 16 release. The line is available nationwide and includes vitamin C, retailing for $14.50, iron for $12.95, vitamin B12 for $9.95, cranberry for $13.50, cherry for $24.95 and calcium for $12.95....

Function at night: Function Drinks says its latest product, Function: Night Life , supports sexual health with macuna pruriens plant extract and tyrosine amino acid. The Redondo, Calif.-based firm says June 25 those ingredients provide "the building blocks necessary for healthy dopamine levels, the neurotransmitter associated with reward and desire." In addition, epimedium, niacin and cnidium help support healthy circulation, according to the firm. Function Drinks are available in 16-ounce bottles with a suggested retail price of $1.79 at stores nationwide....

Natural healing supplement: New York-based Essence of Life's JIVA Curcumin & Fermented Soy is a daily nutraceutical supplement that combines anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties found in fermented whole non-GMO and organic soybeans and spices such as curcumin and bioperine. The product is available in natural health stores and on the firm's Web site for $16.95 for half a pound....

Super amla: A "superfruit" ingredient for dietary supplements will soon reach the U.S. market with Avesthagen's AmlaPure made from organic amla fruit, or Indian gooseberry. The Chatsworth, Calif.-based firm says amla fruit, which has been used for centuries as a rejuvenator and detoxifier, is rich in tannins, gallotannins, polyphenols and bioactives that help to "protect against damage from oxidative stress," Avesthagen says....

Ancient grain: FutureCeuticals' AncienTrim traditional-grain product is a "dispersible, hydrophilic powder rich in ancient grain amino acids and heart-healthy fiber that incorporates easily into" foods, the Momence, Ill.-based firm says June 5. AncienTrim includes amaranth, barley, buckwheat, durum, millet, chia, quinoa and spelt. It comes in conventional, baking grade and organic formats, and is sold by the kilo and distributed globally....

PuraMed patent play: Schofield, Wis.-based PuraMed Bioscience, which is developing a line of "revolutionary, non-prescription medicines," files its first U.S. patent application for a lipid-based version of its headache relief product. "The filing of our initial patent is the first of many steps ... to build a strong intellectual property portfolio" that will protect the company as it introduces new products, the firm says June 30. The company initiated a "long-term strategy" to use in-vitro and human studies to demonstrate the effectiveness of its products....
