Natrol is introducing a "first of its kind" selection of controlled-release supplements that provide "scientifically optimal nutrient dosing over time for maximum effectiveness," the Chatsworth, Calif.-based company announced. The line is available in mass market stores including Walgreens, as well as in drug, grocery and health food stores nationwide. Comprising four nutritional supplements, the line was developed to appeal to busy consumers who "don't have time to think about when to take their supplements throughout the day or night," according to the health and wellness company. Niacin-TR 500 mg Time-Release is a supplement taken once daily with meals that provides an "advanced niacin delivery system that allows for zero flush," the company said. Also known as vitamin B-3, niacin "can play an important role in metabolism and cellular energy production," Natrol noted. A 100-count bottle is priced at $10.99. Natrol also is launching a delayed-release product, Ester-C 500 mg Time-Release . One tablet taken with meals up to twice daily releases Ester-C over 12 hours, slowing typical release of the antioxidant to allow for "maximum absorption and retention," according to the firm. The product is priced at $9.99 for 100 tablets. Natrol's CoQ-10 100 mg Time-Release allows for both rapid and prolonged absorption of CoQ-10, which is known to benefit cardiovascular health, according to the firm. A 30-count container of vegetarian CoQ-10 capsules is priced at $18.99. The lineup also includes Melatonin 5 mg Time-Release , a patent-pending, biphasic delivery system that releases melatonin in two stages - within one hour to help users fall asleep quickly and steadily over eight hours. Natrol says the nighttime product comprises 100 tablets at a suggested retail price of $9.99. - Eileen Francis ([email protected]) |
