Executive Summary
A "major scientific review" of COLD-fX Pharmaceuticals' eponymous product finds the cold and flu remedy provides "impressive benefits," according to a March 1 release from the American Botanical Council. The review of published scientific and clinical studies on the product's active ingredient CVT-E002 found evidence that the product may offer prevention efficacy and suggest the product may help prevent acute respiratory infection. CVT-E002 is a proprietary herbal preparation made from the roots of North American ginseng. Bruce Barrett, M.D., University of Wisconsin, et al., also conclude they "could find no evidence of any risks that would require label warnings."
