Council for Responsible Nutrition urges Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to veto a bill that would create a banned supplements list in California. The bill (SB 37), introduced by Sen. Jackie Speier (D) in December, unfairly singles out dietary supplements by making three supplements illegal for use by student athletes while not mentioning steroids and other potentially harmful performance-enhancing substances, the trade group asserts in its Sept. 16 letter to the governor.
