"Certain ayurvedic medicines on the UK market may contain high levels of heavy metals such as mercury, arsenic and lead," the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency says in an Aug. 15 consumer warning. The concerns stem from a recent Health Canada warning that specific ayurvedic products contained heavy metals. "MHRA believes that the products of concern to the Canadian authories may have found their way onto the UK market," the agency states.
