Decatur, Ill.-based Archer Daniels Midland has purchased Solae's soy isoflavone business, the firms announce Feb. 15. The acquisition includes "an extensive portfolio of U.S. patents, numerous foreign equivalents and pending applications," ADM says. The deal was reached under a settlement in an isoflavone concentrate patent infringement lawsuit Solae filed against ADM in 2003.
