The National Center for Complementary & Alternative Medicine clarifies requirements for providing funding to the Centers of Excellence for Research in Complementary & Alternative Medicine for research on CAM therapy in Dec. 20 announcement. Since NCCAM's research on botanicals is performed through the Dietary Supplement Research Centers Program, the NIH department will give proposed studies of botanicals found in dietary supplements as single ingredients a "relatively low priority" for the CERC program, the Center explains.
