Nearly 250 bottles of Alternative Health & Herbs Remedies' eye rinse products are being voluntarily recalled following an FDA inspection of the Albany, Ore.-based firm's manufacturing facility. The agency determined manufacturing conditions and controls were insufficient to produce sterile products. However, sterilizing would essentially kill the effective botanicals in the rinses, Owner Truman Berst says, pointing out the firm has not has any complaints in the product's 43-year history.
