21st Century HealthCare goes low-carb: Sentry Carb Perform , a supplement equivalent to Wyeth's Centrum Carb Assist , is shipping now along with One Daily Carb Health , comparable to Bayer's One-A-Day Carb Smart , 21st Century says. Both products retail in 100-tablet packages for $9.99. The Tempe, Ariz.-based firm expects its Nutritional Healing line of supplements, which are tied to the book Prescription for Nutritional Healing by Phyllis Balch, to begin shipping in mid-July. The line includes Joint Formula, Eye Formula, Healthy Male Formula, Immune Formula and the Multivitamin Foundation Formula. Each product consists of a 30-day supply of individual vitamin and supplement packets and retails for $39.99....

Fact plus pregnancy test: A digital version of the Fact plus pregnancy test will ship in mid-September, Inverness Medical Innovations announces at National Association of Chain Drugstores Marketplace in San Diego June 21-24. The single-pack test will display the words "pregnant" or "not pregnant" and will be sold in the $14-$16 range, comparable to Clearblue Easy and e.p.t Certainty digital tests, firm says. Inverness acquired the Fact plus line from Abbott at the end of 2003. The firm says its trade ad support for the new Fact plus product demonstrates its commitment to "revitalizing" the brand. The company is currently shipping its Clearblue Easy digital ovulation test, which displays a smiley face when ovulation will occur within the next 24-36 hours and an open circle when it will not. The seven-test kit will retail for $39.99. Finally, the firm is evaluating cross-promotion opportunities for its Triomega fish oil with ovulation and pregnancy test kits following the recent publication of studies finding fish oils are beneficial for fetal development....

Viactiv multivitamin chews: McNeil Nutritionals introduces Viactiv multivitamin softchews in chocolate supreme and tropical fruit splash flavors. The chews contain vitamins A, B6, B12, C, D, E, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folic acid, biotin, pantothenic acid, calcium and sodium. The new line is available in a 60-count carton of individually wrapped chews similar to the original calcium product's packaging....

Lipreve for cold sores: Australia-based firm BioRevive will introduce Lipreve cold sore relief dietary supplement in the U.S. and Australia in September. Two of the amino acid/vitamin-containing pills should be taken twice per day for two days, the firm maintains. The product will be sold in an 8-capsule package with an SRP of $12.99. Separately, the Orul canker sore relief supplement will ship to U.S. retail outlets in September. The two-day treatment will retail in a two-dose pack for $8.99. Orul has been used in dental practices in Australia for 10 years, becoming available in retail outlets there last year. Finally, the firm is introducing Alcodol relief from hangovers to the U.S. market. The supplement, which launched in Australia in 2002, contains vitamins A, B12, C, D, E, thiamin, riboflavin, biotin, pantothenic acid, phosphorus and magnesium to replace compounds lost when the body metabolizes ethanol, firm says. Recommended dosing is two to four capsules per night out, which can be taken while drinking or the following day. An 8-capsule box will retail for $6.99....

Neutrogena: Johnson & Johnson consumer division is now shipping Rapid Clear full face acne lotion for daily use. The firm says the preventative nature of the lotion, which contains 2% salicylic acid, sets it apart from other "zit-zapping" Neutrogena products. The 1.7 oz. tube carries an SRP of $4.80. Separately, the unit's T/Gel daily control dandruff shampoo and conditioner began shipping this month, retailing in an 8.5 oz. bottle for $4.60....

Northwest Natural Products: Sweet Essentials daily supplement malt balls were introduced in four varieties by the maker of L'il Critters Gummy Vites . "Multivitamin Support" and "Menopause Support" containing black cohosh and "Calcium Support" containing vitamin D and 500 mg calcium are sold in 30-count packages priced at $9.99-$11.99. "Joint Support" with 750 mg glucosamine and 250 mg chondroitin is available in a 60-count pack for $19.99. Also launching is the company's Blast line of dissolving vitamin tablets. "H20 Blast" adds folic acid and 100 mg caffeine to water, "Coffee Blast" and "Soda Blast" are multivitamins for coffee and soda and "Immune Blast" contains vitamins and herbs for immune system support. All four are sold in 20-tablet boxes carrying an SRP of $4.99 and are shipping now to all distribution chains....
