Executive Summary
Randy Levin, MD, has been named associate director for Medical Informatics in CDER and the director for Health & Regulatory Data Standards in the Office of the Commissioner, FDA announces April 30. Levin has been director of the Office of Information Management since its inception. In his new role at CDER, Levin will be "scientific advisory and consultant to the center management on policies related to medical informatics and provide expert advice on the strategic direction for information management." At the Commissioner's office, he will work on creating and implementing agency-wide data standards. Linda Burek will take Levin's place in CDER; she previously served as Director for the Office of Information Technology. Burek will be replaced by her deputy, Margo Burnett....
