Agency warns consumers not to use seven herbal products manufactured by BotanicLab due to contamination with Rx drugs indomethicin, diethylstilbestrol, alprazolam, according to June 19 warning. Affected products include Arthrin, Hepastat, RA Spes capsules, which are sold by mail, phone, Internet. BotanicLab recently ceased operations after its PC-SPES herbal blend was recalled for similar reasons (1"The Tan Sheet" June 3, 2002, p. 5). In separate June 14 advisory, Health Canada cautions against use of Bejai Bowyantan, a traditional Chinese medicine for infants, due to presence of 5% borneolum syntheticum, which has a similar toxicity profile to camphor, agency says...
