Executive Summary
NIH Office of Dietary Supplements is dedicating $425,000 in FY 2001 funds to support five new grants under the Research Enhancement Awards Program. Partnering with five different NIH institutes, ODS awards will fund studies on: St. John's wort and drug interactions; B vitamins and cognitive function; methods development for isolation/identification of phenolic phytochemicals in certain vegetables, fruits, plants; chromium and type II diabetes; and zinc for delayed HIV progression, immune response. ODS now has funded 20 grants under the REAP program
